In Mikado Remix, young Belgian performer and slam artist Louis Vanhaverbeke explores, in both literal and figurative way, the limits of what we call normality. The walls of isolation cells, of prisons or schools reinforce our urge to make difference between «normal» and «abnormal», between «Us» and «Others». But when exactly this notion of isolation becomes a threat to our freedom and to our individual personality? What really separates a safe place from a potentially dangerous one? And who will eventually decide who goes on which side? In his new show, this DIY poet, moves in between of barriers, cables, cartons, fuse boxes that he puts together at the pace of his musical texts and preoccupations that he sings along. This hectic building site ends up by giving form to an inner world where doors replace walls and borders become thresholds. An extraordinary poetic claim.
